Katherine McCormick serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Excellence and Engagement. In this capacity, she leads programs in the Transformative Learning unit, including The Study, Academic Placement and Programming, Integrated Success Coaching and Supplemental Instruction. The Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement is also in her portfolio. In addition to her role in Student Success, McCormick also serves as the Acting Associate Provost for Planning and Assessment and is leading the 2023 SACSCOC Reaffirmation process as the university’s liaison to SACSCOC.

McCormick is a Professor in the College of Education and has a long history of practice and scholarship in service-learning. She holds the James W. and Diane V. Stuckert Endowed Professorship in Service-Learning (beginning 2007), and is a Professor in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. She has been actively involved in a number of program, department, college and university initiatives at UK. She served as Chair of UK's Faculty Senate (2016-18), and has served as a Program Chair in her department and as the Chair of the College of Education Faculty Council.

McCormick attended Auburn University for her Ph.D. and the University of Alabama Birmingham for advanced degrees in School Psychology.
