2023 Donations for Citations Drive breaks record

This year’s Donations for Citations drive was the largest ever, netting more than two tons of food and personal care items for UK’s Big Blue Pantry (BBP). University of Kentucky students and employees donated more than 4,358 pounds of pantry staples, topping last year’s amount by more than 1,300 pounds. Everything to know about DanceBlue 2023

Each year in the spring, University of Kentucky students gather in Memorial Coliseum to dance and stand for 24 hours to support the patients in the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic. Leading up to the dance marathon, students fundraise all year long for their chance to dance. This year’s marathon will be March 25-26, and DanceBlue is encouraging the community to come and be a part of the event. Read the full article on UKNow

Woodland Glen III renamed in honor of Stanley and Karen Pigman

Approved by the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees in today’s meeting, Woodland Glen III, the residence facility for students in the University of Kentucky College of Engineering’s Living Learning Program (LLP), is being renamed Pigman Hall in recognition of Stanley and Karen Pigman’s impact on the college.

‘You are not an imposter’ — UK faculty share advice, experiences as First-Gen students

From being in the classroom to leading the classroom — first-generation students and graduates are an integral part of the University of Kentucky. In fact, nearly one in four incoming freshmen and one in three transfer students at UK are first-gen. Each year, Nov. 8 is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating those who represent the first generation in their family to attend college.
