Paul McKinney, Ph.D.
Associate Vice President for Student Financial Stability
Paul McKinney serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Financial Stability. McKinney has more than 27 years of experience in the areas of student financial aid, scholarships, financial literacy and first year experience. McKinney leads the offices of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Financial Wellness Office which houses two hallmark programs; UK Invest and Basic Needs.
Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, he served as the Director of Financial Aid at Mississippi State University for twelve years and was also an adjunct faculty member teaching both undergraduate and graduate coursework in finance and human resources. McKinney also gained experience at the community college level when he served as the Director of Financial Aid for Pellissippi State Community College.
McKinney received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of North Alabama, his MBA from Capella University and his Ph.D. in community college leadership from Mississippi State University.
