Discrimination and Harassment

If you believe you have experienced religious discrimination, please file a report with the Office of Institutional Equity and Equal Opportunity via this form.

 

If you are in need of assistance in receiving accomodations for religious reasons, you can schedule a meeting with Director of Religious and Spiritual Life Justin Sadle here, or contact him via email (justin.sadle@uky.edu) or phone (859-562-2610).

Religious Dietary Needs

Halal food options are available in the Champions Kitchen dining hall, located in the Gatton Student Center.

If you have any questions regarding religious dietary needs with your meal plan, please contact UK Dining's dietician at diningdietitian@lsv.uky.edu.

Religious Holiday Observances

Below are calendars of significant Muslim and Jewish holidays, and their corresponding dates for the 2024-25 school year.  Please consider these dates when scheduling programs and exams.  It is recommended for students to notify professors of conflicts at least two weeks in advance, or as instructed in course syllabi, to ensure that accommodations can be made.  Please contact Justin Sadle if you have any questions, or need assistance in obtaining accommodations.

A list of Muslim holidays for 2024-25 school year:  September 15h - Mawlid; Ramadan Begins Sundown March 1st; Eid al-Fitr - End of Ramadan, Sundown March 30th; Arafah Day - June 6th; Eid-Al-Ad'ha - June 7th
A list of Jewish holidays and dates for the 2024-25 School year:  Rosh Hashanah: Sundown October 2nd - October 4th;  Yom Kippur Sunday October 11th - 12th; Sukkot Sundown October 16th - October 23rd;  Shemini Azeret and Simchat Torah - Sundown October 23rd - 25th; Passover - Sundown April 12th - 20th
