Welcome First Generation Wildcats!

At the University of Kentucky, we define first-generation students as those whose parents or guardians do not have a four-year degree. Our first-generation services are dedicated to empowering these students through tailored initiatives, academic programs, comprehensive advising, and engaging events. From transitioning into college to successfully graduating and becoming Global Wildcats, we provide the support and resources needed at every stage of their journey. Our programming fosters academic success, leadership development, and community building, ensuring first-gen students thrive, connect, and achieve their full potential.

The First Connect Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program helps first-year students successfully navigate their transition to the University of Kentucky by connecting them with trained student leaders who have already experienced many of the same challenges and opportunities of college life.
