Alexis Meza de los Santos is a proud Jarocha from Veracruz, Mexico, and have been residing in the United States since she was nine- years old. She has grown up in the Bluegrass state of Kentucky, and calls Lexington home. She is a first-generation college graduate and has been higher education professional since 2018, currently serving as the First-Generation Scholars LLC Coordinator at UK. She received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Kentucky State University, and an M.S. in Library Science from the University of Kentucky.

She is an active member of the Lexington Latinx/e community, and fights for equitable education, and is always uplifting the voice of her community in every space. As a first-generation Latina college graduate, she is always there to support her students and aims to be the person she needed when she was also in school. When not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and her husband and four kitties cuddling up with a good book or playing video games
