Presentation Instructions and Information

Welcome to POWER! We cover a variety of health promotion and wellness topics and accommodate customized requests. If you have a custom request, please send us an email. For all other presentation requests, please fill out our Presentation Request Form.

We process submissions on a first-come, first-served basis, so please submit your request at least 15 business days before your preferred presentation date.

We strive to provide inclusive, accessible presentations that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To request an accommodation please provide details on the request form.

Requesting parties must coordinate facility reservations for presentation requests. Please note that processing your initial request may take 3-5 days. 

We also offer additional services, including Wellhuts, Tabling Requests, Sexperts Peer Education sessions, Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Peer Education sessions, etc. Let us know if you're interested in any of these programs.

 

Alcohol and Other Drugs - The Learning Bar - Learning Bar Special Event

(50 minutes) This hands-on, interactive session covers the five main lessons of The Learning Bar. It will address what a standard drink is, expectancies, alcohol poisoning and bystander intervention, risk reduction, and beginning with the end in mind. It is the perfect fit for any class.

Alcohol and Other Drugs - The Learning Bar - Full Bar

(75-90 minutes) The full bar session takes the five main lessons of the Special Event and adds another 12 for a total of 17 lessons. Additional lessons address alcohol myopia, potentiation, how effervescence affects intoxication, and more. Students will leave with knowledge, skills, and resources. They will even be served non-alcoholic drinks and snacks as part of “The Main Event.”

Alcohol and Other Drugs - Recovery Ally Training

(45-60) An interactive presentation hosted by the Collegiate Recovery Community to gain a better understanding of recovery from addiction, ways to eliminate stigma, and how to become an Ally to those seeking a sober curious lifestyle! The CRC constantly strives to foster an environment where students in or seeking recovery feel accepted by their peers, are encouraged to share about their recovery, feel comfortable asking for help, and are celebrated by the community. By becoming a Recovery Ally, you are declaring to students in or seeking recovery that you embody these ideals.

Each training will cover the following:

  • High-level overview of addiction and recovery
  • Addiction and recovery on campus
  • Recovery friendly language
  • How to connect students with the CRC
  • Ways to get involved as a Recovery Ally

Health Education - Student Well-Being Presentation

Health Education - Sexual Health Jeopardy

(45-60 minutes) This interactive class will cover the basics of sexual health to empower students to take control of their bodies and sexual well-being as they navigate college life.

Health Education - The Mystery of Motivation

(45-60 minutes) Based on Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies. Students will discover their tendency to respond to inner and outer expectations. In this presentation, they will learn how to work with their tendency while also learning helpful tips to interact with other tendency types to complete tasks and meet goals at school, work, or in any relationship.

Health Education - The Self-Care Mindset

(45-60 minutes) Students will learn about the role of self-care and mindfulness and each component of self-care. Goals related to personal care needs will be set and students will learn how to check in with themselves effectively.

Health Education - ‘Cause That’s Perfect to Me

(45-60 minutes) This interactive presentation explores your current relationship with your body and body image and how to transform this relationship by identifying where diet culture is present in your life and equipping you with techniques to empower you.

Health Education - POWER Nap

Health Education - The Basics of Health & Wellness Coaching

(45-60 minutes) Learn about what Health and Wellness Coaching entails and what the program through POWER looks like. Practice goal setting in this presentation and learn how to connect with a coach to get you started on your behavior change journey.

Sexperts - Let’s Talk About It

(45 - 60 minutes) We get it; talking about sex can be uncomfortable at times. This presentation will show you how to navigate these conversations, including obtaining consent, setting boundaries, and expressing your wants.

Sexperts - All Bodies Are Good Bodies

(45 - 60 minutes) This program aims to spread body positivity and awareness by breaking down what is “normal.” We will discuss social stigma and expectations vs. what is real to encourage everyone to understand their own bodies.

Sexperts - Sex Ed 101: Things Your High School Didn’t Teach You

(45 - 60 minutes) Don’t think you learned enough from your high school sex ed? This presentation will break the stigma, address common misconceptions., and cover all the bases, from birth control and STIs to erogenous zones.

Sexperts - What’s Your (safer) Sexpertise

(45-60 minutes) In this engaging trivia game, participants learn about the state of sexual health on campus and the basics of having a healthy sex life as a college student.
