As a first-generation college graduate, Raetta Goins grew up in rural southern Illinois with a passion for learning that resulted in the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Master of Arts in Education degree (Higher Education Administrative Services) from McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois.

Raetta has 19 years of experience in higher education, having worked at two community colleges and the flag-ship university system in Illinois before landing in Kentucky. Prior to arriving at the University of Kentucky, Raetta worked at two private universities in central Kentucky. Raetta loves the higher education field and is enthusiastic about helping others, having worked with many faculty, staff and students over the years.

Raetta enjoys photography, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Raetta and her husband Greg, a professor at Georgetown College, reside in Georgetown, Kentucky.
