Exit to Student SuccessThe Survivor Advocates at the VIP Center have received specialized training and education on survivor-centered and trauma-informed advocacy and support. VIP Survivor Advocates can help survivors in a variety of ways, such as by providing emotional support and validation, linking to on-campus and community resources, assisting with formal reporting processes, connection to legal advocacy, safety planning, and academic, housing, and parking advocacy.
VIP Survivor Advocate offices have been designed and informed by our Advocates and Survivors to create a trauma-informed environment that accommodates the physical, psychological, neurological, mental, and emotional needs of survivors. When survivors are with a VIP Advocate, they can expect to have their safety prioritized, feel empowered and trusted to make the decisions that are safest and most productive for them and be the director of the conversation topics discussed.
You may call (859) 257-3574 or email us at vipcenter@uky.edu to schedule an appointment with a free and confidential survivor advocate. We offer to meet in person at the VIP Center, or HIPAA-compliant Zoom.
