Scholarship Terms and Conditions

2026-27 Provost Scholarship

By accepting the Provost Scholarship, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • The monetary value of the scholarship is payable per semester for up to four years (eight semesters) of undergraduate study and is based on the academic credentials submitted with my admission application and my residency status.
  • The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships is required to monitor and adjust students’ financial aid awards, including institutional scholarships, to eliminate overawards and/or overpayments in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policy. The monetary value of this scholarship may be adjusted if, in combination with any federal, state, or private need-based or non need-based awards, this scholarship creates an overaward. Visit go.uky.edu/overawardpolicy to view the University’s Financial Aid Overaward Policy.
  • I understand I must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky each semester (minimum 12 hours), beginning the fall after high school graduation. I must complete and pass a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of each spring term. I will not drop below nine (9) credit hours in any one semester. Students who drop below 9 credit hours in a semester or fail to complete and pass 24 credit hours per academic year (August-May) will lose the remainder of their scholarship.
  • Students who drop a course may be liable for the expenses incurred. Scholarship funds credited to the payment of dropped courses may be removed and the student may be billed for any costs incurred.
  • I must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.000 by the end of each spring term.
  • A scholarship recipient whose cumulative grade point average falls below a 3.000, but not lower than a 2.000, at the end of any spring term will be placed on academic scholarship probation. No funding will be provided during a probationary semester. Only one semester of probation will be granted per student.
  • I understand that if I decide to participate in a special program, such as an internship, co-op, Education Abroad, or National Student Exchange, I must notify the Office of Academic Scholarships prior to the experience.
  • I understand that I will be held to a high standard of personal and academic integrity as a University of Kentucky academic scholarship recipient. I agree to abide by the University of Kentucky Student Code of Conduct and understand that any violation of the code may result in the termination of my academic scholarship.
  • I authorize the Office of Academic Scholarships to release my name and scholarship award for use in newspaper releases and scholarship recognition programs.
  • I understand that students may receive only one scholarship through the Academic Scholarship Program. A higher-level award automatically replaces a lower-level award. For example, a competitive scholarship offer, such as a Presidential or Singletary Scholarship, would replace a Provost or Bluegrass Spirit Scholarship offer.
  • I understand that once I am classified as a graduate or professional student for tuition assessment purposes, I will no longer qualify for this scholarship.

2026-27 Bluegrass Spirit Scholarship

By accepting the Bluegrass Spirit Scholarship, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • I understand this scholarship is awarded to students who are not residents of Kentucky. Receipt of this scholarship does not affect my residency status or the tuition rate I am assessed by the University of Kentucky. If my residency status changes or if I am approved for in-state tuition rates through the Academic Common Market (ACM), it is my responsibility to notify the Office of Academic Scholarships, and I understand this scholarship offer will be canceled.
