Residence Hall Staff

The backbone of each residence hall is the full-time Resident Director. These professional staff members play a pivotal role in creating a safe, inclusive, and dynamic living environment. They manage the overall operations of the hall, supervise Resident Advisors (RAs), and coordinate with various university departments. RDs are invaluable in addressing complex issues, offering guidance, and linking students to a broad spectrum of campus resources. You'll find the RD's office near the front desk in each residence hall.

Our CAAs are the friendly faces you see at the front desks of the halls, available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. They oversee desk and mail operations and serve as a go-to resource for students. Whether it's helping with mail, answering questions, or providing general assistance, our CAAs are there to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and offer additional support to the Residence Life community.

Each student is paired with a Resident Advisor, a trained peer leader residing on their wing or floor. RAs are crucial in fostering a sense of community; they provide peer support and coordinate a range of educational and social programs. Approachable and informed, RAs assist with everyday concerns, answer questions, and help students connect with campus life. As a primary contact for students seeking assistance, RAs work in tandem with RDs to ensure a positive and enriching residential experience.

As a member of the executive leadership team, each Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing 2-3 Resident Directors and their respective buildings. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of these residences, focusing on the well-being and development of both students and staff within their jurisdiction.

Supervising two Assistant Directors each, the Associate Directors are members of the executive leadership team who are responsible for one of the three key areas of our campus – North, Central, or South. They provide leadership and oversight, ensuring that each area fosters a supportive and inclusive community aligned with our university’s values.

The Assistant Vice President stands at the helm of Residence Life, guiding the overarching vision and strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all business functions, curricular and programmatic planning, student conduct, staff selection, training and development, and assessment are executed with excellence and align with our commitment to student success.
