The new Kentucky National Guard website requires first time users to register.
- If you have never used Kentucky National Guard Tuition Assistance (KYNG TA referred to as State TA) before or if you have not registered on the STA site, you must do so before applying for State TA. HOW TO REGISTER: You must use a government computer with a government (Army) network and your CAC card. The link for registration is: https://ky.ngb.army.mil/Register. The only time you will ever need to be connected to a military computer and network after this is if you forget your password or need to update your profile.
- HOW TO APPLY FOR STATE TA: Go to: https://ky.ngb.army.mil/TuitionStudentv2. Your username is your email address, and you created your password when you registered. Fill in the blanks and click SAVE. Any questions or problems should be directed to Janet Crickmer at janet.crickmer.nfg@army.mil or 502-607-1039. Deadlines to apply are April 1st for the upcoming fall semester and October 1st for the upcoming spring semester.
- KYNG State TA continues to pay 100% of your tuition at public colleges and universities at the on-campus rate. It does not cover special course fees or late fees. If your classes are all on-line and you are full time you will be paid the full-time rate for on-campus cost only, not including any special course fees or late fees. Therefore, you may need other assistance to cover the remaining balance or cover the cost yourself. You may use Federal TA to cover additional cost, see below. Currently, winter term and summer terms are not covered by State TA.
- FEDERAL TA is recommended for those wishing to take Summer and Winter courses. FTA can also be used if you miss the STA deadlines of 1 April (for Fall) and 1 October (for Spring) or if you need assistance with excess tuition due to online classes. Apply at: Federal Tuition Assistance and click “How Do I Apply?” (CAC ID required).
