Mentor Meetings are free, one-on-one sessions with a trained peer mentor who understands what it’s like to be a UK student and how to succeed in your specific college or academic path. Success Mentors draw from their own experiences to offer insight into expectations, challenges, and opportunities that may not be obvious from the outside. Whether you’re a pre-nursing major looking to figure out your plan to apply to the BSN program in the spring or a healthcare student looking to find faculty with summer research opportunities, Mentor Meetings are the place to get the insider perspective!

Mentor Meetings are a great fit if you want:

  • An inside perspective on your major or intended field
  • Honest insight into what to expect in your courses or program
  • Tips on how to tackle common challenges
  • Ideas and approaches that have worked for other students in your path
  • A chance to ask questions of someone who has been there

What are Success Mentors?

Success Mentors are trained student leaders who help you navigate your academic experience within the context of your degree program or college. Their support leaves you feeling connected and supported. Because they are students themselves, Success Mentors bring a relatable perspective and understand the transitions, challenges, and expectations of life in their field of study firsthand.

Success Mentors also lead weekly Peer Accountability Communities (PAC) sessions where you can connect with peers, hold yourself accountable, and build college success skills.
