University of Kentucky Campus Recreation’s Fitness programming is building a community of women and weightlifting through their innovative event Flowers and Fitness. This event combines fun activities, building a bouquet, with working out to encourage joyful exercise and community. The first event was such a huge success with registration filling within a day of opening registration that Fitness has added two more events to the spring schedule and expanded the timing of the event. This 45-minute full-body workout is held in our Power Rack space in the Johnson Center and welcomes beginners to advanced participants. Although the event is partially education with the trainers leading and cueing exercises, FUN is the focus. Once your set is done rally around the Build-Your-Own -Bouquet station and have a fun night with friends or make new ones!

"Flowers and Fitness has been one of our most sought-after events ever! Students love having a comfy and casual workout paired with a fun activity. Students rave about their experience because they are able to come with friends, make new ones AND learn about exercise from qualified professionals." Maddison Kuehne, Fitness Graduate Assistant.

Wednesday March 12th will be the next event date with the following option scheduled for April 23rd, if you missed the first two. Registration opens one week prior to the event.

Have a busy schedule and want to continue what you have learned from the event? The Power Rack room is open for reservations, making it an easy lift to add to your calendar.
