What is Individual Peer Tutoring?

Need help with a challenging course? Prefer to work one-on-one with a tutor? Individual Peer Tutoring is here to support you!

Individual Peer Tutoring is free, appointment-based, one-on-one tutoring. Certified peer tutors who successfully completed your course are available for in-person or online appointments in a wide range of undergraduate courses. Whether you're working through a difficult assignment, preparing for an exam, or trying to better understand class material, peer tutors are here to help.

Peer tutor appointments are available for 30-, 45-, or 60-minute sessions, and students can choose if they want to meet with their tutor online (via zoom) or in-person.

What to Expect at Individual Peer Tutoring

Individual Peer tutoring is designed to help you build understanding, confidence, and effective study habits. During a tutoring session, you'll work alongside a peer tutor to review concepts, solve problems, and develop strategies for success in your course.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. Bring your questions, assignments, notes, practice problems, or anything else you're working on. Your tutor will help break down challenging concepts, identify areas for improvement, and guide you through the learning process.

To make the most of your session, arrive on time and bring relevant course materials. The more information you can share about what you're learning, the more personalized and productive your tutoring session will be.
