When considering the Joint Service Transcript (JST), the University of Kentucky follows the American Council on Education’s recommendations when awarding transfer credit whenever possible.

How to Request My Military JST

UK's access to your Joint Service Transcript is normally granted within 24 hours of your request. You may also request an unofficial review of your transcript to determine how many credits you may receive.

More Information on Military Credit Transfer

You can view ACE (American Council on Education) recommendations for your military training at www.acenet.edu/Programs-Services/Pages/Credit-Transcripts/Military-Guide-Online.aspx 

Additionally, the UK Transfer Equivalency System (TES) and select “American Council on Education” as the institution in order to view military credit recommendations. 

  • Any coursework that is not found on the TES site can be submitted to the university transfer team, who will work with college partners, in order to provide a course equivalency. 

UK's Military Credit Transfer Policy

  • The American Council on Education guidelines regarding military credit are followed, when possible.
  • Only military credit that directly applies to degree completion is added to the academic record.
  • Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) coursework is processed as traditional coursework from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Military coursework does not count toward the requisite 24 credit hours for transfer admission, as outlined above. If students have fewer than 24 credit hours, they will be required to submit the documents outlined above for applicants with fewer than 24 credit hours.
