Students who have been admitted to the University of Kentucky but have not taken classes and receive military orders need to follow the process below to ensure their enrollment status is deferred in a timely and appropriate manner.

Deferring Enrollment for New Students Due to Military Service
1.Complete UK Military Deferral Request Form:
https://apply.uky.edu/register/militarydeferralrequest
* This form will be sent to the UK Undergraduate Admission Office for review and processing
2.Email the UK Veterans Resource Center at vetcenter@uky.edu
3.If student has signed a contract with UK campus housing, signed up for a UK orientation date or has questions about their financial aid package, please refer to the appropriate office below for assistance.

Continuing UK Students

Steps for Withdrawing from UK and Deferring Enrollment Due to Military Orders
1.Email the UK Veterans Resource Center at vetcenter@uky.edu - include a copy of military orders and dates when you will be withdrawing from UK
* If student is withdrawing in the middle of a semester:
- Staff at the UK Veterans Resource Center will send a formal letter to the student’s professors verifying the student has received military orders.
- If student is using VA education benefits during the given semester, School Certifying Official (SCO) from the VRC will contact student to discuss how their military service may affect their benefits for that term.
2.Email the UK Registration Office at registration@uky.edu
Include a copy of military orders and indicate the semester student intends to return to the University of Kentucky
3.If student lives in UK campus housing or has questions about their financial aid package or UK student account, please refer to the appropriate office below for assistance.
