Flag Football Crowns Campus Champions Written by Nathan Wigton
UK Campus Recreation Intramural Sports Flag Football Champ Night delivered a full slate of competitive matchups as teams from across campus battled for titles in five divisions. The teams packed the sidelines throughout the evening, creating a high-energy atmosphere that carried into every game.
The Co-Ed championship saw AIChE take on 4 Melina!!! in a close game that finished 12-6 with AlChE taking the game and 4 Melina!!! couldn't make a comeback even with an end of game push.
In the Open Competitive, Jiminy Donuts and White Coats was a competitive game with a 16-6 win for Jiminy Donuts which included our former staff member Reece leading the charge at QB.
The Open Recreation championship had Run with Christ matched up against the Pickles. Run with Christ took the championship with a 14-7 win.
The highly competitive evening came to an end with the Fraternity championship on Field 1 featuring one of the night’s most anticipated contests as Delt comes in undefeated and Delta Sigma Phi came in with only one loss. The pledges were out in force with Delt coming away victoriously. While on Field 2 In the Women’s Division, Alpha Gamma Delta Red secured back-to-back titles after defeating UK Charrg 13-0.
Even while battling the cold, it was still a great night for flag football. We had a great competition and sportsmanship that made the night fun for all teams. Look out for the spring IM’s schedule to come out soon and mark the registration in your calendar! Have a great break and happy holidays!
