UK Campus Recreation's mission is to support students and employees in living active lives of meaning and purpose by providing opportunities to exercise, learn, share experiences, and de-stress.

To access our facilities and services, a membership is required (single use options also exist). Membership rates vary based on affiliation with the University. Auto Renewal Memberships:

Auto Renewal memberships are available to UK Employees who choose to pay using payroll deduction.  

  • Once submitted, UK Campus Recreation will submit the request for payroll deduction.  

  • Auto Renewal memberships require a 3-month minimum  

  • Auto Renewal memberships will continue until cancelled by the member.  To cancel membership, we require an Auto Renewal Cancelation Form  to be submitted.  

  • Monthly, memberships will be reviewed for correct deductions.  Payroll Deductions that are not completed will result in a cancellation of membership.

  • UK Student: Any current UK Student who is paying the Campus Recreation student fees.

Tuition and Fees: The specific charges for instruction and related services, excluding other living and personal expenses.

  • Photo ID showing the same address.

Dependent Child of UK Employee/Student memberships are for dependents 16 years or older for Lancaster Aquatic Center.

Membership Benefits

Membership access varies by type and may include use of all indoor Campus Recreational facilities, such as the Johnson Center, Alumni GymSeaton Gym, Lancaster Aquatics, Export Street, and MoveWell Seaton Fitness Center

Free access to most activities, including: swimming, group exercise classes, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, strength/cardio equipment.

Single Visit Guest Passes

A guest pass may be purchased by an active member to gain admittance to Recreation facilities on campus for $10 per person per visit. Members may host up to 2 guest passes per day and must accompany their guests at all times while in the facility. Guest passes are good for a single visit to a single facility.  

Policies
  • ID Policy: Recreational Services will require a photo ID for anyone 14 and older when purchasing a single visit guest pass. 

  • To enter Lancaster Aquatic Center, guest minors must be 48" tall, monitored by an adult, and have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian. 

  • Guest passes are non-refundable

What forms of payment does UK Campus Recreation accept?

UK Campus Recreation only accepts card payments that include MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express through the UK Recwell Services portal.

How do I cancel my Auto Renewal Membership?

You can cancel your Auto Renewal Membership by submitting the Auto Renewal Cancelation Form

How do I check my membership status?

Check your current membership status through the UK RecWell Services portal, or call/visit one of the indoor facilities. When you visit the online registration page, follow these steps: 

  1. Login in the upper right hand corner.  
  1. Select your username and then select 'Profile' 
  1. Select “Memberships.”  You can view current memberships (and inactive ones) 

Can I bring a guest with me?

Guests are welcome at all indoor facilities! Simply pay the single visit guest fee.  Everyone 14  years and older needs to have a photo ID with them to access our facilities.

Do UK Alumni have access to UK Campus Recreation facilities?

Current members of the UK Alumni Association may purchase single use passes to Alumni Gym, the Johnson Center, and Lancaster Aquatic Center for $10. Alumni wishing to utilize this service must present a Current UK Alumni Associate Membership card and photo ID.  

I am a Retiree, Spouse, or UK Affiliate. How do I obtain access to the Recwell Services Portal?

Access is granted through verification via the Campus Recreation Facility Membership Application. 

Who can I sponsor for membership?

UK Employees, UK Retirees, UK Affiliates and UK Students have the opportunity to sponsor their spouse/domestic partner .  

  • Piece(s) of official mail with each person’s name and address (examples include, but are not limited to: postmarked mail, company/hospital bill, bank statement, property tax, renter's agreement, etc.

Do I qualify as a master's student for a student membership?

Any student enrolled in classes in the current semester is eligible to purchase a student membership, if they are not already paying the Campus Recreation fee within their tuition and fees. 

When do semester memberships end?

The fall semester is from August 1st – December 31st. The spring semester is from January 1st – May 31st. The summer semester is from June 1st – July 31st.  

Do BCTC students have access or can get access?

BCTC students who are dual enrolled at UK or living on UK’s campus have access to Campus Recreation facilities, if they are paying the Campus Recreation fee.
