Intramural Sports: Flash Events Written by Susan Meredith
As the spring semester winds down, we’ve been soaking up the sunshine out at Pieratt Field, where students have been building their teams for Flash: Grass Volleyball and swinging for the fences in Flash: Slow Pitch Softball. The stakes? High. The prize? T-shirts, bragging rights, and eternal intramural glory.
Thank you to all players, supervisors, and spectators for making this tournament a success. We look forward to seeing you at future Intramural Sports next semester!

This week’s Flash: Softball Tournament brought strong competition, steady teamwork, and a great display of campus spirit. With 14 teams and 173 participants, the event highlighted the engagement and enthusiasm of our intramural community.
Games began Sunday, and it didn’t take long for the competition to heat up. One of the standout matchups featured Big Ol' Hitties and Pi Kappa Phi in a back-and-forth game that came down to the final inning. Pi Kappa Phi secured a 12–11 win, earning their spot in the championship game.
Fast forward to Wednesday night with the sun setting, the stage was set for the final: Kappa Sigma vs. Pi Kappa Phi. With both teams bringing strong defensive play and composure under pressure, it was a close and competitive matchup. After five innings, Kappa Sigma came away with a 2–1 win to claim the championship title.
Congratulations to Kappa Sigma and to all the teams who participated this season.
