UK Campus Recreation: Flash Golf Tournament
We are through 18 holes here at Tate’s Creek, the grass is green, the sun is shining, and golf is in the air. Puts were falling, chip shots were landing on the green, and drives were flying down the fairway. As today marked UK Campus Recreation Intramural Sports semesterly golf tournament and it was a showdown till the final hole.
The competition was tight through 9 holes with the largest gap being only 4 strokes apart, while our top two participants had only one stroke separating them. It stayed tight throughout the back 9 holes as well, with our finals scores staying within single digits of each other. In the end our winner was Camden Girten who shot a hot round of 78 on the day. He walked away with being named the champion, our IM champ shirt, and bragging rights.
Beyond the scores and competition, the tournament was a great opportunity for everyone to meet new people and connect over a shared love for the game. Whether it was chatting between shots or cheering each other on, the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship made the day memorable.
